Lao Hu Tong: Reviews & Ratings
Somehow Coral Springs has become a home for multiple soup dumpling spots, and I’m absolutely here for it. Lao Hu Tong’s rendition of soup dumplings brings flavor and excellent wrappings. Tried the pork truffle soup dumplings, they were nice and savory with a sauce on the side to provide some bite. The other dishes on this visit were also solid choices. The shrimp pot stickers come in a sheet of crispy, crunchy fried goodness. The vegetable stir fried noodles had a nice chew and plenty of veggies. Added freshness to the meal with a side of the spicy cucumbers. They had a savory yet spiced sauce that goes well with the fresh cucumber slices. Tried the chocolate buns for dessert. They were definitely creative but I’m not sure if I’d get those again. Service is friendly and the restaurant has vibrant decor. My only note is that the spicy sauce on the table really wasn’t that spicy. Maybe I can ask for spicier sauce on the side for a future visit. I’ll definitely be back!

Good new addition to Coral Springs dumpling restaurants. Well decorated place. Soup dumplings were good. Also we enjoyed the beef noodle and wonton soup. The shrimp noodle was just so-so. The scallion pancake was good but greasy. Overall the portions are small and you may need to order more dishes to share if you have a big party. The booth seating space we had was very tight.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ – A New Gem in Coral Springs! Lao Hu Tong is an amazing new addition to Coral Springs. The atmosphere is stylish yet welcoming, and the service was friendly and attentive. The dumplings were absolute perfection — juicy, flavorful, and freshly made. Every dish we tried was bursting with authentic flavor. You can tell the chefs really care about quality and presentation. It’s rare to find a place that gets everything right so early on. Highly recommended :)
5 stars for a Coral Springs restaurant…who would have thought? Seems random to find a terrific dumpling spot that’s not in the hustle and bustle of a city! What a great find. We were skeptical, but braved the drive out west, and whoa!! we are happy we did. For two of us, we ordered the combo soup dumplings, fried bao buns, bok choy, Dan Dan noodles, wonton soup, chicken wings, cucumbers, custard buns, and chocolate buns. Oh, yeah, and for dessert, another order of the combo soup dumplings. Everything was delish. We were told that we were ordering too much, but they did not realize our abilities! The dumplings’ skins were thin, but sturdy. Not thick and chewy! The broth - outstanding! The buns were so light and fluffy, they melted in my mouth!! Fried chicken wings - sweet, spicy, & sticky! Really crunchy too! The chocolate buns are a standout too! Dan Dan noodles were okay. I really had to flavor them with the table sauces. Service was excellent. Food came out fast too. Looking forward to returning this week! (Camera didn’t eat first today! We jumped right in!)
Lao Hu Tong is such a great find! The place is nice, clean, and has plenty of tables inside, plus an outside dining area if you prefer eating outdoors. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, which made the experience even better. The food tasted great and the portions are perfect for sharing. We especially loved the cucumber appetizer so refreshing and flavorful. The dim sum soup was also delicious! Overall, we truly enjoyed our visit. I highly recommend this restaurant, and we will definitely be back again… and bringing some friends next time!

This restaurant has quickly earned its place among local favorites, especially for its masterful rendition of soup dumplings. The pork truffle soup dumplings, in particular, showcase a delicate yet sturdy wrapper that holds a savory, rich broth inside—each bite bursting with umami and complemented perfectly by the accompanying sauce.
Beyond the star dumplings, the menu offers a thoughtful variety of dishes that marry texture and freshness. The shrimp pot stickers arrive crisp and golden, delivering a satisfying crunch with every bite, while the vegetable stir-fried noodles impress with just the right chewy bite balanced by a medley of vibrant vegetables. A side of spicy cucumbers adds a refreshing, tangy counterpoint, enlivened by a sauce that holds a subtle kick without overwhelming the palate.
Dessert at Lao Hu Tong ventures into creative territory with chocolate buns—a unique choice that, while intriguing, might not be for every diner’s repeat visit.
